The Activity Graph is one of the most powerful analysis tools on the platform and we now allow you to set it up as you like. You can eliminate any unnecessary data by using the configuration options. You can set these configurations up once and then this will apply to every file you open in the future for your chosen sport. It is now easier to find your top performances within a ride and pin point exactly where they occurred.
At the other end of the spectrum you also have the ability to add in detailed analytics. This unique feature is not found in this detail on any other cloud based platform. From interactive widgets to channel configurations, we have outlined below how to set up and use this new Activity Graph functionality.
The Activity Graph has seen some significant improvements and is considered the basis of any detailed analysis you do on an activity. We have preset defaults for each particular sport but you can simplify, or expand this view to include as much detail as you like for different sports. We have maintained all of the existing functionality as well as added more options and configuration if you wish to adjust your display.
First of all, you will now notice a summary bar on the right of theActivity Graph which you can open and close as you like. This will display details of your current view on the activity graph such as zoomed sections or peaks details.
Graph configuration options
You can now find all of your graph settings in the top right corner of the Activity Graph, under the configuration icon. These are divided into four key areas:
- General: This includes the display of zone colours, adjusting the axis scaling and more.
- Channels: You can adjust the channels that are displayed by default, add rolling averages, as well as the way in which the channels are displayed (colours, style, etc). This will also adjust the fields that are displayed in the summary view on the right of your graph.
- Intervals/peaks: This is allows you to adjust the fields you see when looking at your intervals on the graph. You can also select whether you wish to see the interval details or hide them when displayed on the graph.
- Reference lines: You can save preset reference lines that will appear everytime you open a new file. An athletes threshold will already appear but you can add more reference lines if you like.
The preferences above are also individual to each sport type. When your files are uploaded we can automatically detect the sport type and have different settings depending on the particular sport you are looking at. For example here are two different displays; one for running with power and one for a cycling activity.
Graph analysis tools
Next to the graph settings icon is the peaks and intervals details. This again uses the sport type to determine what fields to display and can include; intervals and peaks details for power, heart rate, pace, leg spring stiffness and leg spring stiffness/kilogram.
You can use the tick box to display a certain field such as where a peak power occurred in a ride, or the magnifying glass to zoom into that particular section. The details of that section will also be displayed in the summary bar on the right of the activity graph.
From this same drop down you can also overlay other files (coaches can overlay files between different riders too).
The other options found in the top right include data editing tools to help eliminate erroneous data or replace certain areas of a file. If it is a .fit file you will also see an option to split your file, for example you could split a file into three: warm up, race, cool down.
Finally, in the top left of your activity graph you have smoothing options for your data and you can adjust the scale in which you are viewing your data. These options include, elapsed time, elapsed distance and time of day.
